NBT Forms Bond with SIGA

NBT - SIGA tapesResponding to the demand for increased airtightness, Natural Building Technologies (NBT) has expanded its options of high performance construction solutions, with the introduction of a range of SIGA adhesive tapes and membranes. Complementing NBT’s existing innovative woodfibre insulation systems and masonry products, the SIGA range offers high performance adhesives which can be used to seal sheathing boards, insulation boards, masonry door and window openings and pipework, helping to create air- and windtight roofs, walls and ceiling structures.

The SIGA range is durable, reliable, resistant to ageing and free of domestic toxins. Incorporating high performance tapes and membranes to seal the joints of wood-based panels and wall connections, doors and windows, as well as circular pipes and ductwork, the SIGA range optimises the thermal performance of a building, and reduces its energy demand, heating costs and carbon emissions.

Suitable for all methods of construction, including timber and steel frame, masonry and modular build, the latest addition to NBT’s product offerings will further facilitate the achievement of outstanding levels of airtightness. The SIGA systems are ideal for use with NBT’s proven woodfibre building envelope solutions which are air and windtight but fully breathable. A sustainable woodfibre board range, NBT’s Pavatex systems achieve U-values as low as 0.10W/m2K and outperform more traditional insulation products.

Quick and easy to install, NBT’s woodfibre board range incorporates Pavaclad, Diffutherm, Pavaroof as well as the more recently launched system designed for the repair and refurbishment market; Pavadentro. Regulating the passage of moisture through the walls and roof by means of controlled vapour permeability, capillarity and hygroscopicity, the woodfibre boards prevent damp and the formation of mould for a healthy internal environment. The Siga range of products enhances the performance of the woodfibre boards by preventing unwanted and uncontrolled heat loss and moisture transfer through air leakage.
