NBT and Burdens Partnership

Code for Sustainable Homes solutions

Burdens has become the first multi-site building materials distributor to stock NBT's (Natural Building Technologies) high performance, ecologically sound building products and systems. The move co-incides with the launch of ‘Burdens Environmental', a new team dedicated to delivering the most advanced and sustainable building technologies available to the trade through its existing branch network.

As part of this new strategic alliance, a core range of NBT's products will be stocked initially in four of Burdens branches: Llangadog in Carmarthenshire, Blaydon-on-Tyne in Tyne and Wear, Plympton in Plymouth and Kirkcaldy in Fife, with the intention of rolling it out across all branches nationwide.

The products that will be stocked by Burdens include NBT's high performance Pavaclad, Pavatherm and Diffutherm woodfibreboard systems, its highly insulating hemp batts range, its ThermoPlan advanced thin bed solid wall building system and its range of precision formulated, ecologically sound paint.

Kevin Hancock, group marketing director at Burdens, commented: “There is increasing pressure on the building industry to become more sustainable and reduce its negative impact on the environment.

“The specially trained Burdens Environmental team has been put in place nationwide to specifically address this issue. It is designed to provide practical help and advice to our customers on the latest, most advanced ecologically sound building products and systems that will help them meet government demands, while improving the efficiency and quality of the build process.

“NBT is the market leader in modern, environmentally sound building products and has developed a range of high performance systems specifically to meet the needs of today's building and construction industry, which have been proven to significantly improve the build process and the performance of completed buildings. As such, NBT's range will form the cornerstone of our new advanced sustainable product offering.”
