Moisture storage capacity: Building materials with a big moisture storage capacity can store up to 20 % of their mass without getting damaged (if they can dry after a while again). The combination of mass, speed of uptake (suction) and change in equilibrium moisture content of a material are the three key factors to understanding the effect of a material in a building.
